EDUCATION

Colleen was born in Jacksonville, FL and grew up on the beaches of a barrier island. Colleen attended Fletcher Senior High School where she excelled at creative endeavors in yearbook, drama and industrial arts. Colleen attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL where she received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a Minor in Sports Management.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Colleen has more than 20 years’ experience in general business administration. Colleen has benefited from all of the sectors she has worked including the U.S. Olympic Committee, graphic design studios, field marketing, radio, commercial real estate, government and finally architecture and construction. Today, Colleen and her husband Scott, own Dalkita and work throughout the United States.

DISTILLERY EXPERTISE

In 2005, Dalkita was asked to design and build Downslope Distillery, in Centennial, CO. Since then, Dalkita has become a nationally recognized expert in distillery design and construction. Dalkita has designed, built, or consulted in the design of more than 30 distilleries in Colorado, California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Utah and elsewhere. Some notable distillery projects include Stranahan’s (CO), CopperMuse (CO), Elevation 5003 (CO) and Triple Eight (MA).

Colleen provides the marketing strategy and support for Dalkita by developing valuable educational content for distillers, and code officials, on the building and fire code as it pertains to distilleries. Recent public speaking appearances include: the American Craft Spirits Association convention in Pittsburgh, and the American Distilling Institute’s convention in Portland.

COMMUNITY AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICE

Colleen and the Dalkita team appear monthly at the Downslope Distilling School in Centennial, CO and provides a 3hr overview seminar on building code, fire code, and design issues regarding distilleries.
